- 2017 Audi A3 Sedan imported to India for homologation

- Audi will launch the new A3 Sedan by end of 2016 or early 2017
It was back in September 2014, when Audi first launched the A3 sedan in India. Being the most affordable sedan from the Ingolstadt-based carmaker in the country, the A3 became a major volume driver from Audi India. And still continues to be one of its top sellers. That said it has been almost two years since its launch and this is the perfect time for the carmaker to bring in the facelift.
In terms of looks, the new Audi A3 sedan looks a little more premium and stylish compared to the outgoing version. The new model comes with subtle changes to its exterior styling along with a restyled cabin and some new smart features. Some major updates to the car's exterior profile includes the carmaker's signature Matrix LED headlights (optional, standard version gets Bi-xenon lights) with a new headlamp cluster, redesigned front grille, sporty front bumper add larger air intakes. The side profile of the car looks largely similar to the older version with the only exception being the new stylish alloys. Same goes for the rear section as well which only sees novelty in the form of the new sharper LED tail lamps.
Inside the new 2017 Audi A3 comes with a similar cabin with a hint of freshness. The most notable addition to the interior is the company's new Virtual Cockpit as option. Other feature includes revised upholstery, all-digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch screen housed in place of the conventional dials, and a new 7-inch display unit for the MMI interface offering Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
Under the hood the India-bound Audi A3 facelift will be powered by the 1.8-litre TFSI petrol and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engines that are mated to the outgoing model as well. In addition we will also get the new 1.4-litre TFSI petrol motor that comes in two tunes 123bhp with 200Nm of torque and 148bhp with 250Nm of torque. Transmission option will include the same 7-speed S Tronic automatic and 6-speed S Tronic automatic. We expect the car to be launched in India by end of 2016 or early 2017 with the price starting at Rs. 22.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
