2016 Toyota Fortuner to Look Sleeker; Spy Pictures Revealed

Toyota seems to be in revamp mode off late. First, we saw pictures of the new-generation Innova, and now pictures of the next-generation of the Fortuner are out too. There is little doubt that Toyota is aiming for the 'sleek design' badge with this one - at least that's what I believe.

Toyota seems to be in revamp mode off late. First, we saw pictures of the new-generation Innova, and now pictures of the next-generation of the Fortuner are out too. There is little doubt that Toyota is aiming for the 'sleek design' badge with this one - at least that's what I believe.

From what we can make from this picture, the 2016 Toyota Fortuner gets a slimmer twin slat front grille, while the chrome lends a the car a bolder stance. Changes in the front include head-lamps that seem sleeker as compared to the current generation of the car and a restyled front bumper, which also houses chrome encased fog-lamps. However, the bulge on the bonnet has been done away with.

The Fortuner worked pretty well in the market because of its aggressive looks and the road presence it commanded - a department where the next iteration of the Fortuner lacks. With that being said, Toyota will continue to employ the ladder frame chassis since it will help keep the car's weight in check, and will also help improve its ride and handling.

About when it's coming to India - the 2016 Fortuner will first debut in the Southeast Asian markets, before probably arriving in India at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The launch of the car will follow soon after. Hopefully. As far as its competition is concerned, the Fortuner will rival the Hyundai Santa Fe, the new Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Captiva, and the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. Also, we expect it to be priced between Rs. 22 - Rs. 25 lakh.
