2015 Datsun mi-DO Unveiled
Highlights
Datsun has taken the wraps off the 2015 mi-DO at the Moscow Motor show. The car will go on sale in Russia early next year, but we cannot deny the fact that the car will be introduced into India soon.
The mi-DO is a five-door hatchback that Datsun calls practical yet sporty. Based on the on-DO, the mi-DO receives similar styling. Infact, we are very familiar with the front grille as we've seen it on the GO hatchback that was launched in India this year.
The dimensions of the mi-DO are similar to that of the on-DO and it gets the same wheelbase as well. But it receives distinctive headlamps and a shorter overall length of 3,950mm.
Under the hood, the mi-DO will get a 1.6-litre engine that churns out 87bhp while transmission duties are handled by a five-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic.
Nissan has promised that there will be 3 new Datsun cars that will make its way to India by 2016 and the on-DO and mi-DO look to be ideal candidates because it will establish the Datsun brand in four competitive segments - the small car (GO), hatchback (mi-DO), entry level sedan (on-DO) and the MPV (GO+). India will first be introduced to the GO+ MPV, while the others will follow suit.
