2014 New York Auto Show: All-new Dodge Charger revealed
Highlights
The all-new Charger is here and at the New York Auto Show, the company previewed this car which will soon be on sale.
This is a significant refresh for the Charger and Dodge has given it a Dart-inspired front fascia matched with a narrower grille and more rounded headlamps. Dodge officials say that almost all the body panels were altered while the daytime running lights and tail lamps get LED's.
Then there is the new three-piece spoiler which is standard and it also receives chunky 20-inch alloys. Inside you get a 7-inch TFT customizable digital gauge cluster, eight new cabin trims, a three-spoke steering wheel and a "performance-inspired" electronic shifter.
The Dodge Charger will come powered by a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 which pumps out 292bhp and 353Nm torques. But if that wasn't your cup of tea, then you can opt for the larger 5.7-litre HEMI V8 which generates around 370bhp and 535Nm torques.
Thanks to the HEMI, the Charger sprints from 0-100km/h in, a little more than, 5 seconds. These two engines are coupled to a standard 8-speed TorqueFlight automatic transmission.
