2014 Beijing Motorshow: Volkswagen's new Midsize Coupe Concept

Highlights
We told you earlier that Volkswagen will be showcasing a new midsize coupe concept at the Beijing Motor Show and the company has revealed details of the car which possibly indicates a newer version of the Jetta.
Volkswagen envisions a sport sedan which will be placed below the Passat and will be produced on the MQB-B platform. Although wider than the Passat, the NMC is actually shorter and lower than the Jetta.
The people at Volkswagen say that despite the sleek profile which has granted a drag coefficient of 0.29, the New Midsize Coupe manages to remain a practical car as it offers enough cabin space for five people and a cargo capacity of 500 litres.
Volkswagen's LED headlamps make their way into the car while the taillights feature aluminum accents. Under the hood, the NMC gets a 2.0-litre, 4 cylinder TSI engine which produces 218bhp.
Mated to a 7-speed DSG autobox, the NMC will be capable of zooming to 100km/h in 6.5 seconds and topping out at 244km/h. About the possibility of it seeing the light of production, we are not sure but design cues will be picked up for future models.
