Automobili Pininfarina, an automotive design powerhouse, now an electric car manufacturer, has unveiled the Pininfarina Battista electric hypercar ahead of its arrival at the Monterey Car Week in California, USA. Named after Battista Farina, an Italian automotive designer, the electric hypercar is said to be the most powerful road-legal Italian car to be ever built. Interestingly, 'Pinin' refers to the youngest/smallest sibling in Italian. The company says that only 150 units of the Pininfarina Battista will be manufactured, with five units to be manufactured as the 'Battista Anniversario', which will be even more exclusive.

The 'Anniversario' editions feature a unique Automobili Pininfarina designed livery and bi-colour tinted Furiosa Pack consisting of front splitter, side blades and rear diffuser, with outer carbon parts finished in black and inner parts in tinted in Iconica Blu. The Pininfarina Battista will be manufactured at the Cambiano atelier facility in Italy. The interior of the Battista is said to make use of sustainably sourced luxury leather with Iconica Blu contrast stitching and quilted Pilota seats in Iconica Blu Alcantara. The seats feature Pilota carbon components finished in black, in coordination with the exterior of the car.

The Pininfarina Battista gets a quad-motor electric powertrain (one motor for each wheel) with a combined output of 1,900 hp or 1,874 bhp and peak torque output of 2,300 Nm. The electric hypercar can reach a maximum speed of 350 kmph, with the 0-100 kmph coming in less than two seconds and 0-300 kmph sprint taking less than 12 seconds. The car gets a 120 kWh battery pack, which gives it a range of 500 km or so. Pininfarina will offer a warranty of 10 years on the Battista. The Battista's powertrain is similar to that of the equally potent Rimac Nevera. Deliveries of the electric supercar will begin later in 2021.
