Benelli 802S Promises Bigger Engine With More Performance

- New 799 cc parallel-twin engine with 95 bhp
- Kerb weight to decrease by nearly 20 kg on new model
- New Benelli 802S to be introduced in Europe
Benelli is looking to introduce a new 799 cc roadster, which, in production form, will likely be called the Benelli 802S. Type-approval documents filed in China point to the upcoming 802S, which will replace the existing Benelli 752S, currently on sale in Europe, although Benelli India doesn’t list it for sale in India. The 802S will replace the 754 cc unit of the existing model, and the bigger engine puts out an additional 20 bhp, taking the bike’s power output from 75 bhp to 95 bhp.

Visually, there seems to be no significant changes to the design of the bike, but what has reduced considerably is the bike’s kerb weight, down from 228 kg in the 752S to 208 kg on the 802S. So far though, it’s unclear where the weight savings have been done. The frame could have a different construction, as the material used in the fuel tank and seat unit. The wheels have a new design, but the 50 mm Marzocchi fork appears to be unchanged, along with Brembo brakes.

Benelli already introducing a new 698 cc parallel-twin engine with 75 bhp, which will be used in the upcoming TRK 702. It’s still not clear what new models Benelli India has plans of introducing in India.
