The Trident 660 has been positioned as an entry-level premium bike, for riders with less experience, or for those looking for a bike to get back into motorcycling. Looking at just the numbers, the Trident may not feel like much, but with 80 bhp power, with 90 per cent of the torque spread out across the rev range, in a 189 kg kerb weight package, makes for quite an entertaining motorcycle. It will be perfect for the daily commute, and will be up for some weekend fun.

Kawasaki India has been testing a dual-purpose KLX 230 motorcycle as spy images have surfaced on the internet. The KLX 230 isn’t an all-new motorcycle but is already on sale in the international markets. Once launched in India, it will be the most affordable road-legal motorcycle from the Japanese bike maker.
The KLX 230 features a dual-purpose motorcycle design with large wheels, minimalistic body panels, a tall slim seat and high ground clearance. Unlike the other KLX bikes offered by Kawasaki India, this one will be a road-legal motorcycle and hence will be equipped with a headlamp, turn indicators, registration plates and a saree guard.
Powering the KLX 230 is a 233 cc single-cylinder air-cooled mill that is rated to produce around 19 bhp and 20.6 Nm. The motorcycle will ride on wire-spoke wheels with long travel suspension at both ends, and will be equipped with an all-disc setup for braking. Kawasaki offers two variants of the KLX 230 abroad, the standard and S variant. The latter comes with a lower seat height of 830 mm which is most likely to be launched in India.
Lastly, pricing will be the most crucial aspect, and for good sales numbers, Kawasaki India will need to price the KLX 230 aggressively by making maximum use of its manufacturing facility and localisation. Once launched, the Kawasaki KLX 230 will lock horns with the Hero XPulse 200 4V in terms of displacement. Going by the images, we expect Kawasaki to launch the KLX 230 towards the end of 2024 at this year’s India Bike Week 2024 or sometime in early 2025.

The next-generation KTM 390 Adventure has been caught testing yet again, this time being the Enduro variant of the adventure touring motorcycle. The motorcycle is due for its global launch later this year which is likely to happen at 2024 EICMA in Milan.
The upcoming KTM 390 Adventure Enduro boasts a striking and aggressive design with sharp styling cues throughout. It features a prominent, beak-like front fender and a sculpted tank with angular extensions, creating a distinctive look with straight lines along the middle and tail sections. The bike is equipped with a single-unit LED headlight and sleek LED indicators. Its wide handlebar seems to be higher, complementing the upright ergonomics, including mid-set bear claw footpegs with rubber inserts for enhanced comfort. The instrument panel will be an updated version of the Bluetooth-enabled TFT unit with new features and information.
As for the cycle parts, being the Enduro variant the motorcycle will sport a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear wire-spoke rims. Suspension duties will be handled by long-travel, adjustable inverted fork and an offset monoshock, both sourced from WP. Meanwhile, braking will be handled by disc brakes at both ends, assisted by switchable dual-channel ABS.
KTM currently offers the 390 Adventure in three variants with prices starting from Rs 2.82 lakh for the base variant which goes up to Rs 3.62 lakh for the top-spec variant. With the new 390 Adventure, expect the price range to go up by ten-fifteen thousand considering all the upgrades and changes the motorcycle is receiving.

The Suzuki GSX-8R is the new middleweight sportbike from Suzuki Motorcycles, based on the same 776 cc, parallel-twin platform which has three models in Suzuki’s global portfolio, the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE adventure bike, the Suzuki GSX-8S naked street bike, as well as the full-faired Suzuki GSX-8R.
The GSX-8R was unveiled globally at EICMA 2023 and shares the same mechanical components as its 8S counterpart, differing primarily in appearance. It maintains the stacked headlamp setup seen in the 8S, but with a redesigned headlamp cowl now integrated into a fairing that partially covers the engine. The rearview mirrors, previously mounted on the handlebars of the 8S, are now situated on the fairing of the 8R. Additionally, the twin LED daytime running lamps of the 8S are replaced by a single eyebrow-style unit positioned above the stacked headlamps. At the rear, the 8R retains the partially exposed frame design of the 8S but features a two-piece stop lamp compared to the single stop lamp of the 8S.
Beneath its exterior, the 8R boasts the same powerful engine as the 8S and the 800DE: a 776 cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled parallel twin. This engine configuration includes a 270-degree crankshaft and Suzuki's Cross Balancer Shaft. It delivers 82 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 78 Nm of peak torque at 6,800 rpm. Paired with a 6-speed gearbox equipped with an up-and-down quickshifter, it offers smooth and responsive performance.
Additionally, the bike is packed with advanced riding aids, including selectable ride modes, traction control, an easy start system, and low RPM assist. Unlike the GSX-8S, which globally features KYB USD fork and mono-shock, the 8R (similar to the 800DE) utilizes Showa suspension units. For braking, the 8R is equipped with twin 310 mm discs with four-piston calipers at the front and a 240 mm disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear, ensuring reliable stopping power in various riding conditions.

It's a design, which, in a way, feels incomplete, rather than being generally attractive. That is its biggest weakness, and to us, the FZ-X comes across as a well-rounded package, but still doesn't quite cut it as being "special," like the first Yamaha FZ-16 did, more than a decade ago. The Yamaha FZ-X offers an interesting proposition. The idea is great, and will probably start the first of the crossovers in the 150-200 cc segment.

The new Ducati Panigale V4 S has that innate quality that makes a 200-plus bhp superbike very accessible and safe around a racetrack. Sure, it's not made for less experienced riders new to litre-class superbikes, and despite the state-of-the-art electronics package, one wrong twist of the wrist can make things go wrong very quickly; after all, all that power and torque over a wide rev range is not to be fooled with, or taken lightly, by any standard.
