Interceptor 650

Legend from legacy RE INTERCEPTOR 650

By PAVAN REDDY @ Nov 18, 2019 11:00 AM

This is Pavan Reddy S from Vizag, and I work for Pharma company and I have taken RE INT 650 delivery yesterday. The moment I heard that RE is launching the vehicle. I have decided to own one. The main reason for opting the RE INT 650 is because in India the one only manufacture who are having great legacy with huge reliability and doing business ethically and continuing the culture of pure biking. Also this is only the Company in where you can keep a bike for your lifetime as a asset and you can carry forward to your next generation. Since fifteen years i was planning to own a RE bike. but some how it was not happen. RE after launching the INT 650 it was like a love at first sight. It's simple bike, minimalist design and huge power. I will not get into technical specification as so much of information is already spread by many reviewers. This bike will full fill all your dreams of holding big bike with minimum pricing comparatively(3.0 L on road price). Also it will fulfill all needy and standard requirements but greedy things will not not be catered. Can not expected with that price bracket. Riding with this bike is like gliding with breeze. At 80 kmph speed its like luxurious ride that you can feel. Suspension for single person is very comfortable and with pillion rider its very softer side. Breaking is like topnotch. Seat comfort is only one thing where RE need to work on. However this bike worthy, reliable and you can pass it to next generations also.

Exceptional and awesome performance

By Chandrashekhar Tallapragada @ Feb 09, 2020 08:26 PM

Today I got the delivery of BS6 variant of Interceptor 650 Ravishing Red colour......I rode it for about 65km since delivery in the afternoon today....it’s a wonder machine at that price....silky smooth ride quality and awesome power.....0-60km if you just turn the accelerator then you feel as if you are sitting on an airplane which is about to take off on the runway ...it’s a great experience and reminded me of my college days Yamaha RD 350....but much more power and refined feel. It’s a great bike to have, it’s very easy to ride though it’s 200+ kgs...I’m an average height guy but I felt it’s pretty easy even in city traffic....my son just loved it so much that even after parking it in the garage he kept it ON just to hear the beat for an hour or so...I highly recommend this to all bike enthusiasts of all age groups....will post my experience after few months of using it too...may be today being first day I’m over excited ????

Whole new impression about RE

By Nathanjdias @ Jul 17, 2020 01:59 PM

I used to hate RE bikes because of the utter lack of power, refinement and general reliability. The 350 and 500 were and still are absolutely terrible in my honest opinion. The RE Interceptor 650 on the other hand is a whole other story. It isn't the most powerful 650 but at it's price point it doesn't have to be. It has ample of power for our streets and the refinement level of the bike makes up for everything. The power delivery is extremely linear and cruising at 130 kmph is effortless at around 5000 RPM. The slip assisted clutch and super precise gearbox making riding a pleasure. The bybre brakes and Pirelli Phantoms with dual channel ABS are a perfect blend to bring this 200kg+ monster to a halt. If I could ask for one thing from RE, it would be for the power to be bumped up to around 55HP which the engine is actually capable of producing as per engine specifications.

Interceptor 650

Worth for price

By Santhosh @ Nov 29, 2019 05:22 PM

I'm riding it from past 6 months completed 5000 km. I own RE DS 500, Avenger 220 street, Yamaha but this one is Amazing beast. Had few long rides & shorter rides in bangalore heavy traffic. Can't compare with any bikes in this segment with lesser price. I can give 5 out of 5 for this machine. If u take a test drive you will be fallen in love with this classic beauty. Finally RE has brought refined powerful twins engine to market. Kudos for team & Siddharth Lal

Royal Enfield Just rocked

By Sangeeth P R @ Jan 01, 2020 01:13 AM

Never was a fan of Royal En-field which produced vibrator machines such as Classic 350s and 500s. Seems like they have done their homework with the new twins. Refinement and braking is top notch. The sense of disbelief that you are actually riding a Royal Enfield will come to your mind when you ride the twins and it is an example of how Royal En-field has raised the bars in twin cylinder segment.

Interceptor 650

The Beast

By Vasanth @ Nov 08, 2019 12:12 PM

Oh God, never could anyone dream of a power delivery in this bike, I would prefer to rename it as "Powerful Beast". Not even little vibration at high speeds. Most powerful engine I have ever ridden. The TRUE Beast on highway. Indians are lucky to dream and own one at such affordable price comparatively to other heavy engine bikes. 25km per little for such a heavy engine can be accommodated.

Interceptor Rocks!!!

By Edward Jo Justus @ Nov 23, 2019 02:32 AM

It's an amazing model from Royal Enfield Motors.I loved it. It's really precious. It made my journey from Wayanad(Kerala) to Himalayan hills possible. It never got any technical issues on the ride.I really enjoys with Interceptor. If you are buying a bike, as my opinion it's the best choice.

By Rijul Singh @ Apr 01, 2022 04:20 PM

Fair enough to cruise at nominal speed

By Luke @ Mar 11, 2022 12:02 PM

This could have been a perfect bike unless it was launched by RE. All the deficiencies that prevailing with RE you can experience. Unpleasant sounds from handle/ fork which service people can’t rectify on first service. Slip gears , miss firing, poor built quality is a big pain. Even though price is lesser compared to same specification of other makes, this is not very cheap (3.7L on road) . I am getting milage of 12 kmpl in bangalore traffic but 30 kmpl on highways with a speed of 80 kmph@ 3- 3.5k rpm which is a great satisfaction. Pick up is linear than aggressive and there is no traditional RE vibrations. The harder seat cause lot of pain for people weigh lot. Pulling is good but somehow wobble lot on higher speed. Poor breaking not giving confidence to cross 100 kmph.

Worth the money, but truly NOT trustworthy for a tourer!!

By S Riyadh @ Dec 27, 2019 11:33 AM

I am so happy about the riding experience with this machine, smooth, solid, brilliant piece of engine(but not the engineering- will tell you the reason), looks , feel and I can keep going with the list but how can the engineers forget about the challenges that the Indian roads will pose to the tyres.. Whatever be the great experience one would feel while riding comes to ZERO, WHEN YOU ARE STRANDED IN SOME REMOTE RURAL STREETS/ROADS BY FLAT TYRES( Tube tyres). I personally experienced the above experience cos of this foolish Non-tubeless tyre(of course not without an alloy wheel) is a TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT FOR THIS PRICY machine and takes away the laurels any rider would give this bike at some point of time.

Perfect bike to keep in garage.not reliable for roads.

By Aman Kr @ Jan 30, 2021 08:29 AM

I bought this bike 2 months back. Since then I am fixing one thing or the other. It has stayed dead or in service center for half of the time and I am not exaggerating at all. I should have bought a Honda. If you want a reliable bike Royal Enfield is the last brand you should look at. Battery Issue (charged it twice then bought a new Exide battery from company then that also died), twichy throttle response, clicking noise from rear shocker, problem with instrument cluster, turning off on high rpm. But I am happy to say this bike is the only problem in my life.

Not recommended for those who loves long ride

By Bommer @ Mar 11, 2022 12:15 PM

Pros: Huge power delivery. Proudly own 650 twin under 4 lakhs. Less vibration than other RE Cons: very poor milage. Poor breaking doesn’t offer confidence to go beyond 80kmph. Poor service centres can’t address problems. Gearslips. Heating issue. Misfiring/ missing throttle. No tubeless tyres. Rusting. Poor fuel indicator If you take for long ride , remember no tubeless. No mechanic will help you if you goto remote area. I personally faced and had to toe around 1 km when back tyre Punchure, to fix the day I hated the bike. If cross 100 make sure everything clear ahead. Else you gonna hit. If you are in 6th hear suddenly you have to break due to hump, or any obstacles it is difficult due to full clutch. Often bike stops. One full clutch for one gear shift. Good for roads like airport runway. Milage is maximum 14 in city. 28 kmpl in highway if you maintain speed 70-80. Better I could have choose Ninja 300.
