Absence of GPS in the Mercedes Benz
By Nilmoney Roy @ Jan 01, 2020 08:27 PM
I, Nilmoney Roy would first like to establish that I am the proud owner of 3 Mercedes Benz’s; a 1962 model, a 1965 model and a GLC 220 D. On my 82nd Birthday last August 2017 my son gifted me a GLC 220 D from your Kolkata branch. It is with deep regret that I have drafted this letter. My GLC has not been equipped with a standard GPS navigation system. It is appalling that such a premium car does not have a basic feature, a feature found in almost any car in this day and age of technology of much lower valuation. To further establish my concern and in hopes of correcting the situation, I contacted the Kolkata establishment of Mercedes Benz. I spoke to Mr. Sourav Rahan (Sales Manager), where I raised my concerns and was swiftly told that the GPS Navigation System would come at an additional cost. To my utter surprise, a car worth Rs. 50 Lakh requires additional payments for a proper and a normal experience. A system worth Rs. 40,000 is a small fraction of what the car costs and is not the problem for a consumer like me. The problem is that a car worth this amount must be equipped with the basic requirements and the fee for such requirements must be included in the initial total fee. An additional fee, for a navigation system, for a car worth this immense amount is most certainly not necessary The principle of selling a car, without a navigation system, and then including it as an additional payment is what is wrong with the company’s policy, something I would like to shed some light upon. I would like a prompt and satisfactory response along with a solution to my aforementioned concerns and I hope this letter is read with the seriousness with which it has been written with.
