Lewis Hamilton set the fastest lap in the first free practice session today at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia. Mercedes has retained the engine that had 'apparently' lost a cylinder at the Australian Grand Prix, which translated into an early retirement of the Mercedes driver.

Peugeot plans to make a Dakar comeback with a Red Bull sponsored car in 2015, atleast that's what the French media is saying. French newspaper l'Equipe has mentioned that Peugeot is preparing to compete in next year's Dakar rally with a two-wheel drive car sponsored by Red Bull.

Mercedes' Nico Rosberg led from start to finish to win the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. Rosberg beat home-turf boy Daniel Ricciardo, who was placed second in his first drive for Red Bull, with McLaren debutant Kevin Magnussen clinching third spot.
