Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 Expert Review
Pros
- Very appealing bobber design with a choice of four vibrant and true-blue custom colours, the Goan Classic 350 is one attractive motorcycle.
- Smooth and refined engine which is torque-laden and features a meatier exhaust note, which is quite likeable, and of the standout features.
- Cross-spoke tubeless wheels with period-correct whitewall tyres which are tubeless. Tubeless tyres in this segment and price point certainly are a big advantage and will be easy to repair in case of a puncture.
Cons
- The ergonomics are not very comfortable for longer rides, even though the taller handlebar feels neutral and easy to reach.
- It’s the seat and the feet forward riding position which translates to a somewhat cramped and fixed riding triangle.
- Brakes feel a little spongy and requires a fair squeeze of the brake levers to shed speed quickly.
The best part about the Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is its attractive design and flamboyant colours. As an affordable factory custom bobber, this is one motorcycle which makes a compelling case. As a second bike, or as a motorcycle for short rides around town, and to make a style statement, the Goan Classic 350 is a very good option, and is an appealing motorcycle. The riding position and ergonomics though doesn’t make for a very comfortable motorcycle for long hours in the saddle. And the slightly bouncy ride quality, at the rear, which makes you feel all the bumps and road potholes up your tailbone, makes for a not-so-comfortable motorcycle if you intend to do more than short blasts around town.
The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is the latest addition to Royal Enfield’s lineup, offering a factory-custom bobber inspired by the sun-soaked Goan lifestyle and the hippie movement of the ‘70s. This motorcycle combines style, charisma, and practicality, aimed at riders seeking a laid-back yet stylish companion for leisurely rides. Built on the same platform as the Classic 350, it features a stripped-down design, unique ergonomics, and a characterful ride quality
is a head-turner, with design elements that make it stand out as a factory-custom bobber. Its stripped-down aesthetic, paired with premium finishes, gives it a unique charm.
Design Element | Details |
---|---|
Front Fascia | Blacked-out engine and components, tall handlebars, and a minimalistic headlamp design |
Rear Styling | Chopped fenders and stylish whitewall tubeless tires |
Color Options | Four options: Purple Haze, Shack Black, Trip Teal, and Rave Red |
Special Touches | Hand-painted graphics on the fuel tank, with color-specific custom touches |
Each color variant caters to different tastes:
- Purple Haze offers a vibrant, hand-painted "Royal Enfield" graphic.
- Rave Red channels hot-rod inspirations with flame-like designs.
- Shack Black brings a matte black finish with gold detailing for a dark, minimalist look.
- Trip Teal provides a flamboyant, youthful aesthetic with chrome exhaust and orange wheels.
The whitewall tubeless tires, a first for Royal Enfield’s 350cc lineup, add a retro vibe while enhancing practicality.
The Goan Classic 350 is powered by the reliable J-series 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which is shared with the Classic 350.
Engine Specs | Details |
---|---|
Engine | 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled |
Power | 20.2 bhp @ 6100 rpm |
Torque | 27 Nm @ 4000 rpm |
Transmission | 5-speed gearbox |
- Characterful Engine: The engine delivers a relaxed and laid-back performance, ideal for slow, scenic rides. The burbly exhaust note adds to the riding experience, creating a nostalgic and satisfying soundscape.
- Practical Output: While not performance-focused, the engine offers adequate torque for smooth acceleration and an unhurried ride style
Goan Classic 350 features a unique riding position with a tall handlebar, scooped solo seat, and forward-set footpegs. While visually appealing, this setup has its limitations.
Riding Aspect | Details |
---|---|
Ergonomics | Tall handlebars and low seat height create a slightly leaned-back riding posture |
Suspension Setup | Identical to the Classic 350 but with a 10mm longer swingarm |
Handling | Stable and confidence-inspiring, even during leaned-over cornering |
- Pros: The bike is stable and easy to handle in city traffic and on scenic backroads. It tips into corners effortlessly and remains planted during turns.
- Cons: The riding triangle doesn’t allow much flexibility in seating posture, making longer rides less comfortable. The accessory seat and lower handlebar options can address these issues
Comfort & Practicality
The Goan Classic 350 is designed for relaxed, short rides rather than long-distance touring. While the seating position may look cool, it’s not the most ergonomic for extended trips.
Comfort Feature | Details |
---|---|
Solo Seat | Scooped seat with limited room for movement |
Accessories | Optional seat with thicker padding and lower handlebars available |
Practicality | Perfect for scenic rides and casual outings, but not ideal for rough terrains or long distances |
The seat provides decent cushioning for shorter rides, but the fixed riding position could be a drawback for those planning multi-hour journeys.
Goan Classic 350 is priced slightly higher than its sibling, the Classic 350, positioning it as a premium offering in the 350cc segment.
Variant | Price (Ex-Showroom) |
---|---|
Purple Haze | ₹2.35 lakh |
Shack Black | ₹2.35 lakh |
Trip Teal | ₹2.38 lakh |
Rave Red | ₹2.38 lakh |
Compared to competitors like the Jawa 42 Bobber, the Goan Classic 350 is marginally more expensive but offers the practicality of tubeless tires and a factory-custom appeal.
Goan Classic 350 includes standard safety features consistent with modern motorcycles in this segment.
Safety Features | Details |
---|---|
Braking | Front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS |
Tires | Whitewall tubeless tires for added grip and reduced puncture risk |
Lighting | Halogen headlamp and LED tail lamp for better visibility |
While braking performance is adequate, a slightly sharper front brake bite could enhance confidence during sudden stops.
Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is a stylish, charismatic motorcycle designed for laid-back riders who value aesthetics and nostalgia. It shines as a factory-custom bobber with unique styling, a relaxing ride quality, and the practicality of tubeless tires. However, its fixed ergonomics and limited comfort for longer rides may deter touring enthusiasts.
For those looking to turn heads while cruising through scenic locales like Goa or their local streets, the Goan Classic 350 is a perfect companion. Its blend of style, character, and exclusivity justifies its premium pricing, making it a compelling choice for lifestyle riders

Mixture of bobber and clasic 350 looks best in design. The bike is amazing in city traffic with its smooth handling, but on highways, the vibrations at higher speeds can get a little uncomfortable.

The ape-hanger handlebars and white-wall tires give this bike a classic look, while the modern engineering ensures it performs exceptionally well. It's a perfect mix of nostalgia and functionality however The engine delivers excellent torque, especially in city traffic, where it performs flawlessly. However, the rear suspension can feel a little harsh on bumpy roads, which could use improvement.

In urban environments, the Goan Classic 350 is a joy to ride smooth handling and great power delivery. On highways, though, the vibrations at higher speeds can get a bit overwhelming, making it less ideal for long-distance travel
