Volkswagen has confirmed that the third-gen Tiguan will sit on the updated MQB Evo platform and will sit on an identical wheelbase as the current model.
The new Tiguan will be about 30 mm longer than the outgoing model though VW says other dimensions will be similar to the current-gen SUV.
While the camouflage does hide much of the SUV’s bodylines, the overall design looks to be an evolution of
the second-gen model while incorporating newer design touches such as the LED lightbar at the front.
The new Tiguan follows a minimalist design theme for the interior with most in-car function relegated to a large 15-inch central touchscreen. Even the gear selector is now a stalk behind the steering.
The 2024 Tiguan will receive features such as heated, ventilated and massage front seats, adaptive suspension and an electronic locking differential.
VW has confirmed that the new Tiguan will feature internal combustion engines. The range will include conventional, mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrids with the latter offering up to 100 km of EV-only range.
