The C40 offers a slightly sportier design owing to its more coupe-inspired looks. While the A-pillars resemble the XC40 Recharge, the C40 does have a more prominent sloping roof and sharply raked tailgate.
The interior layout of the car is the same as the XC40 Recharge with a large central portrait-oriented touchscreen, vertically oriented air-con vents and a digital instrument cluster.
In terms of equipment, the C40 gets a panoramic glass roof, Harman Kardon sound system, wireless phone charger, PM2.5 air purifier, connected tech and ADAS.
It gets the same powertrain in the XC40 Recharge, a twin-motor all-wheel drive powertrain delivering a strong 402 bhp and 660 Nm. Volvo claims a 0-100 kmph time of 4.7 seconds.
The electric motors are paired with a 78 kWh battery pack giving it a WLTP range of up to 530 km on a full charge – up from the XC40 Recharge’s 418 km.
