The Nexon EV now gets Curvv EV’s more energy-dense 45 kWh prismatic LFP cell battery
Tata’s new prismatic cell battery pack has the highest energy density in the segment — 186 Wh / litre — which is 15% higher than before.
The new 45 kWh battery pack gets an ARAI certified range of 489 km — 24 km more than before — which according to Tata Motors should translate to a real world range of 350–370 km, significantly more than the 40.5 kWh battery’s 290–310km real world range
The 45 kWh battery enables Nexon EV’s motor to dish out more power than before, despite having the same drivetrain.
Tata has added a few features to the 45 kWh variants, which won’t trickle down to the 40.5 kWh variants,
including a new voice-activated
panoramic sunroof.
The 45 kWh Nexon EV is priced
starting from ₹13.99 lakh, going upto ₹17.19 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top end Empowered + Red Dark trim.
For the time being, Tata Motors will continue to sell the 40.5 kWh battery variants as well, which will be up to
₹70,000/- cheaper than the 45 kWh variants.
