Tata Harrier Red #Dark Review

The Tata Harrier Red #Dark adds a new shade to the Dark range, along with a host of new creature comforts and tech features, including ADAS. But, is it worth spending the extra premium?

The all-black treatment has been retained and for a large part, the SUV looks identical to the regular Harrier #Dark edition. However, there are some distinguishing elements that set the Harrier Red #Dark apart.

Design & Styling

While the #Dark badging is now treated in red colour, you also get a red accent on the grille. Plus, the new red brake calipers for all four wheels, along with the 18-inch alloys add to the sportiness of the SUV.

The Red #Dark Edition

Step inside, and the first things that will grab your attention are the Carnelian Red upholstery. Both the driver and front passenger get ventilation function, along with 6-Way power adjustable driver seat and a panoramic sunroof.

The New Red Cabin

In terms of features, the Harrier Red #Dark packs 10.25-inch HD display with wireless connectivity, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control and rear AC vents and more.

The Features and Tech

The big addition to the Harrier Red #Dark range ADAS functionalities like - Autonomous Emergency Braking, High Beam Assist, Blind Spot Detection, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, however it is a bit intrusive. You also get 6 airbags, an Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold function, ISOFIX, and 360 view cameras.

Tata’s ADAS SUV

The Harrier Red #Dark gets a 2-litre diesel engine that makes 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. It’s powerful and torquey, but in the lower revs there is a bit of delay in response. As for the gearbox, it’s not the quickest one out there but the shifts are smooth, and it does its job well.

Engine and Performance

Starting at Rs. 22.62 lakh (ex-showroom) the Harrier Red #Dark is certainly not cheap, but for that premium, you do get a lot of smart features which certainly add value.
