Tata Motors has finally given the Harrier a much-needed facelift and the SUV has been updated inside-out. New styling, premium creature comforts and smarter tech - it gets them all. But are things really as good as they look?
The new Harrier’s styling is heavily inspired by the Range Rover family. The split grille up front gets dark chrome chicklets, along with new LED headlights, LED foglamps and connected LED DRLs with welcome animation.
The Harrier now gets a gesture-controlled powered tailgate that opens by simply moving your leg underneath the rear bumper. Additionally, at the rear, you also get to see connected LED taillights and new Harrier badging.
The fit and finish inside the new Harrier is top-notch. In addition to ambient lighting, you get premium faux leather seats with ventilation and power adjustability for front passengers. There’s also a voice-activated panoramic sunroof on offer.
Among its advanced tech features, the Harrier now gets a new 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The instrument cluster is also a fully digital 10.25-inch unit and shows navigation as well.
In addition to well-bolstered seats, the rear passenger now gets more comfortable foldable headrests, and sun blinds on the window for privacy.
The new Harrier facelift is powered by the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that makes 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. It’s offered in both manual and automatic along with a new electric power steering system.
