Italian bike maker MV Agusta is working on an all-new three-cylinder engine that will powerthe Brutale and Dragster motorcycles in the future. Here’s why it’s special.
MV Agusta is now a part of the Pierer Mobility Group, which owns KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas motorcycle brands. Despite the connection, the Brutale maker will develop its ownpowertrain.
MV Agusta will continue working on three- and four-cylinder motors for its motorcycles instead of opting for the parallel-twin engines from KTM.
This will ensure that MV Agusta can maintain its exclusivity as a niche motorcycle player albeit with the backing of a larger manufacturer like the Pierer Mobility Group.
MV Agusta is open to an engine partnership with KTM should it decide to enter MotoGP in the future.
MV Agusta was previously
represented by the now defunct Motoroyale brand in India. The Italian bike maker is yet to make a comeback.
