Maruti Suzuki Fronx Crash-tested In Japan NCAP

The model tested was made in India and it has scored four stars in Japan

Compared to the India-spec model, the Fronx sold in Japan gets a beefier safety net thatincludes six airbags as standard and ADAS functions

JNCAP Performance

The subcompact crossover secured a 92 per cent score for its ADAS safety tech, whilebagging a 76 per cent score for occupant and pedestrian protection

Collision Tests

It scored well in the full frontal and frontal offset collision tests for driver protection,though it lost points in the new rear-seat full-wrap collision test. The Fronx also missed out onsome points in the updated offset frontal collision test, where the Japanese crash safety agencynow also assesses damage to the second vehicle involved in the collision. The Fronx alsosecured a full 5/5 rating for side impact tests, while scoring 4/5 ratings for neck protection incase of rear impact. Pedestrian head protection received a low 3/5 rating, though pedestrian legprotection received a full 5/5 rating

ADAS Test

The ADAS systems of the Japan-spec Fronx got 92 per cent score in the ADAS-specifictests. It bagged full 5/5 ratings for autonomous braking tests conducted with pedestrians andcyclists, as well as for Lane Departure Prevention. The Japan-spec Fronx secured a lower 4/5rating for headlight performance and accidental acceleration prevention, while the autonomousbraking system received a 3/5 rating for intersection testing
