Visually, the AMG A 45 S 4Matic+ remains identical to the outgoing models. Changes include updated headlights with new LED DRLs, refreshed LED taillights and a slightly tweaked AMG grille. Frankly, you’ll barely notice the difference.
The A 45 S now gets a new black and silver interior trim, called - Aluminium AMG design that looks much sportier. The AMG steering now gets touch-control panels, a welcome addition, and the USB chargers are claimed to be 20% faster.
In terms of tech, the A 45 S continues to come with a wide display with two 10.25-inch screens. While the units remain unchanged, you now get the new-gen MBUX system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with voice assistant.
In terms of safety features, in addition to 7 airbags, anti-lock brakes and a rear-view camera, you also get Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Brake Assist, and Active Parking Assist.
It gets the same 2-litre turbocharged units that makes 415 bhp and 500 Nm. It continues to be the most powerful 4-cylinder engine and pack a heavy punch. Only problem is the noticeable turbo lab in the lower revs.
The A 45 S is also quite quick. It’s capable of doing the 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 3.9 seconds, whereas the top speed is limited to 270 kmph.
At an ex-showroom price of Rs. 92.50 lakh, the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4Matic+ is ₹ 5 lakh more expensive than before. But compared to the BMW M2, it’s just about ₹ 5.50 lakh more expensive. The latter is more exotic, more powerful and offers better value.
