Hyundai India will soon enter the fast-growing micro-SUV segment with the Exter on July 10. Here's all you need to know:
Hyundai Exter: 7 Things to Know
The Exter is essentially a tall-boy hatchback with SUV-like styling and proportions. This is accentuated by the squared-off face with a clamshell-style bonnet, sculpted profile with high shoulder line, flared wheel arches, and roof rails.
Design & Styling
The Exter will come with options projector headlamps with LED DRLs, diamond cut alloy wheels, LED taillights, shark-fin antenna, high-mounted stop lamp and electrically adjustable ORVMs with turn indicators.
Features & Equipment
The Hyundai Exter will be offered in 6 monotone shades and 3 dual-tone colours. These will include 2 new colours – Cosmic Blue and Ranger Khaki, and it’s the latter that you get to see in these images.

The Hyundai Exter will come with a segment-first voice-enabled Smart Electric Sunroof that will respond to voice commands like - “Open Sunroof” or “I want to see the sky”. It also gets 6-airbags as standard.
Segment-First Features
Hyundai will also offer a dashcam with a front and rear Camera, a 2.31-inch LCD display, and smartphone app-based connectivity. It supports Full HD videos, can take pictures, and gets different recording options like Driving (Normal), Event (Safety) and Vacation (Timelapse).

The Hyundai Exter will be offered in 5 variants that include EX, S, SX, SX(O) & SX(O) Connect. Based in the engine options and transmission choices, customers will 13 different iterations to choose from, including two CNG trims.
Hyundai Exter: Variants
The Exter will get a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine that is E20 fuel ready and will be available with 5-speed manual and an optional AMT unit. There will be a CNG option as well with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
