Bengaluru startup Exponent Energy is using water to make EV charging faster, more affordable, and more profitable.
Long charge times are a major barrier to EV adoption. Exponent Energy's water-based system can charge an EV in 15 minutes.
The Problem With EV Charging
Exponent Energy's system uses refrigerated water to cool the battery pack, allowing it to charge faster without overheating.
How It Works?
Exponent Energy's system is faster, more affordable, and more scalable than traditional EV charging methods. Installing the system can cost as much as ₹ 1 lakh on a two-wheeler, ₹ 2.50 lakh on a car and ₹ 10 lakh on a large truck, substantially impacting their pricing.
Benefits & Pricing
Over the next two years, Exponent plans to deploy around 1,000 e-pumps across Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad via a franchise model. Exponent's energy stack could be a pivotal moment in India's EV story if automakers adopt it.
