The sale of combustion engine cars will be banned from 2025
Electric cars made up nearly two thirds of Norway's new sales in 2021
Although the ban is on its way, currently most of the Norwegian population already uses EVs
In 2020 54% of all cars sold in Norway were electric
Overall new car sales in Norway rose by 25% in 2021 to a record 176,276 units, of which 65%
were fully electric
Although the ban is incoming in 2025, trends suggest that Norway may just tap 100% of its
market share comprising solely of EVs within the next 7 months!
