Lamborghini has officially shown its new plug-in hybrid powertrain for its upcoming flagship supercar. This V12 1000 BHP powertrain will debut in the replacement for the Lamborghini Aventador, marking the brand’s foray into electrifying its product line-up

This upcoming new supercar has a codename of LB744 and will get the PHEV (plug-in hybrid) powertrain. It will feature a new 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 paired with three electric motors
What do we know about the engine and car?
The gearbox will be a new 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission unit that is made in-house. It will be transversely mounted behind the engine with the transmission tunnel now housing a 3,8 kW battery pack for the hybrid system

The brand has stated that the L545 (codename for the new V12 engine) will be its V12 yet weighing 17 kg less than the Aventador's unit. The engine will make 814 BHP and 725 Nm by itself

A pair of electric motors power the front wheels and offer up to 110 kW and 350 Nm each. The third motor, mounted to the gearbox, offers an additional 150 Nm of torque. Total system output will be 1001 BHP
