This masterpiece was created by Heinrich & Wilhelm Hildebrand and Alois Wolfmuller
Heinrich, Wilhelm, and Alois Wolfmüller founded the first factory in Germany that produced motorcycles in substantial quantities in Munich in 1894
This factory produced more than 1000 machines in its first two years, each powered by a water-cooled 1488 twin-cylinder four-stroke engine that produced roughly 2.5 hp at 600 rpm
Even though an Englishman named Edward Butler developed a motor tricycle in 1884, German Gottlieb Daimler is generally credited with creating the first real gasoline-powered motorbike in 1885
The basic idea behind Daimler's creation was to link a four-stroke motor to a bicycle frame made of wood, which was then stabilised by the attachment of an additional pair of lateral wheels
The Harley Davidson, arguably the most well-known motorbike of all, was initially made available for purchase in 1904
Anumber of manufacturers rapidly emerged in both Europe and the United States
