Chevrolet Debuts New Model with a Unique All-Wheel Drive Setup
Chevrolet pulls out the stops with its Corvette E-Ray that now gets a hybrid V8 engine
Chevrolet has debuted its all-new Corvette E-Ray with several exciting new
developments in store for enthusiasts
The E-Ray is the first from the brand to get a hybrid system with an electric
motor on the front axle and also all-wheel drive
It is a special model to commemorate 70 years of the Corvette brand
according to the company
Some of the design tweaks include new bumpers and a wider body kit along
with wider tyres and 20-inch and 21-inch front and rear alloys
Special racing stripes complete the picture, while there are more updates for
electronic driver assistance features as well
The interiors remain mostly the same as the regular C8, with several interior
colours and other customization options
The 6.2 litre V8 LT2 engine now pairs up with the electric motor for
ensuring all-wheel drive. This makes 495 BHP and 637 Nm of maximum
torque as well
The electric motor gets a 1.9 kWh battery, enabling full-electric driving for
smaller stretches. This is named the Stealth mode and is applicable for
speeds going up to 72 kilometres per hour
