Checking out the Audi E-Tron and its fascinating story
The Audi E-Tron has a fascinating history of its own, with its first usage
going back to the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009. This was when the R8
electric supercar was shown.
Then Audi showcased the A1 E-Tron concept with the 2009 model
launching in a two-motor rear-wheel drive version in 2010.
Multiple plug-in hybrid concepts followed with limited production for the
fully-electric R8 E-Tron in 2015. The E-Tron SUV concept was also shown.
Multiple concepts like the E-Tron GT, PB18, and Sportback followed, with
the name used for several production versions over the years.
These include the A6 L E-Tron and Q7 E-Tron along with the E-Tron SUV
that debuted globally, and the E-Tron Sportback.
The E-Tron GT followed in 2021 globally and paved the way for the RS E-
Tron GT. 2022 saw the Q4 E-Tron and Q4 E-Tron Sportback along with the
A6 E-Tron.
