Mercedes-Benz plans to have a host of new products and updated models lined up for launch in 2018 and the automaker has given a glimpse of what the line-up will look like. Mercedes' parent company Daimler has revealed a roadmap for its products for next year in its second quarter interim report.

The Renault Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance have outlined their plans for electric cars in the near future. These new cars will include a new generation of electric batteries and motors which will also have fast charging capabilities and a range of over 600 kilometres. the alliance plans to launch 12 new electric cars by 2022 with shared platforms and many more models with plug in hybrid technology.

Toyota India will be introducing the 2017 Fortuner TRD Sportivo edition soon in the country. Dealers have confirmed the arrival of the special variant and the model was spotted recently as well. With prices expected to be around Rs. 31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), changes on the new Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo will be largely restricted to cosmetic upgrades over the standard version.

Land Rover is possibly one of the most affected brands when it comes to the new GST cess rates in India. Considering the fact that all Land Rover vehicles are large SUVS that are longer than the 4-metre length requirement that is needed for a lower cess bracket, every single SUV has received a price hike. Where the new Land Rover Discovery with the 3-litre petrol engine originally was priced from Rs 68.05-84.43 lakh, the new prices for the SUV (petrol) are pegged at Rs 71.38-88.56 lakh. The diesel version of the new Land Rover Discovery has had an even larger price increase. The SUV with the diesel engine was priced originally at Rs 78.37 lakh to Rs 1.00 Crore and now, with the increase in prices due to the additional 7 per cent cess levied on all SUVS in India (larger than 4 metres), the new price ranges from Rs 82.21 lakh to Rs 1.07 Crore (ex-showroom).

Honda showcased the prototype of the new-gen CR-V Hybrid. The CR-V Hybrid will be on the roads only in early 2018. It also gets a host of changes as far as design and equipment is concerned.
