2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Sedan Launched In India At Rs 46.90 Lakh

Nearly a year on from its global debut, BMW India has finally launched the new 2 Series Gran Coupe. Offered in two variants, the prices of the sedan are Rs 46.90 lakh (218 M Sport) and Rs 48.90 lakh (218 M Sport Pro, all prices, ex-showroom) respectively. This means the 2 Series Gran Coupe remains the most affordable model from the German carmaker in the Indian market. BMW says the new sedan’s deliveries will commence today.

The new 2 Series's design is notably different from the model it replaces
Visually, the new 2 Series retains a similar coupe-like profile as the older model but is flush with several styling changes to bring it up to date. It gets new headlights that are identical to the units on the new 1 Series hatchback (on sale overseas) and a revised version of the kidney grille which is now illuminated. The front bumper has also been tweaked and now comes with a wider air intake. The rear end gets new taillamp units with new signatures, in addition to a more prominent diffuser. The new model rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.

The cabin gets a 10.7-inch central display and a 10.25-inch digital instrument display
On the inside, the sedan gets an all-new cabin layout, which is in line with newer models from BMW. The cabin features a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the driver cluster is a 10.25-inch digital display. The screens run BMW’s new OS9 software. Other features offered as standard in the car include two-zone climate control, ambient lighting, cruise control with braking function, interior camera, powered seats, rear view camera and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Opting for the Pro variant will also equip the car with a head-up display and a surround view camera.

The car is now powered by a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder engine
On the powertrain front the 2 Series Gran Coupe comes with a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder engine unlike the older iteration which came with a 2.0-litre engine in India. The new powertrain units churns out 154 bhp and 230 Nm of peak torque, which is about 20 bhp and 50 Nm less than its predecessor. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the front wheels. The car accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 8.6 seconds, and can reach top speeds of up to 230 kmph.
