The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio looks butch and more modern than its predecessor.

The new-gen Mahindra Scorpio is expected to take quite a leap when it comes to looks and will be a huge departure from the current model. It looks bulbous and will have a bigger footprint than the outgoing model. It still retains the boxy silhouette while its edges have been smoothened out and you see get too see a slight hint of the Mahindra XUV700's design cues as well. For instance, the rising rear haunch and the large window frame are design elements we have seen in the new XUV700 as well, while the new Scorpio will also bear the new Mahindra logo. Then, the new Scorpio will also feature modern-age features like LED twin-pod projector headlights, LED fog lights, bigger 10-spoke alloy wheels and generous amount of chrome detailing. The signature Mahindra front grille with vertical chrome inserts will also be present.

The cabin of the new Mahindra Scorpio will also undergo a major upgrade. While it is likely to be offered in both six-seater (with second-row captain seats) and seven-seater seating configurations like the current model, the seats appear to wider and offer better bolstering. Even in terms of layout, unlike the Mahindra XUV700, Mahindra seems to have given the Scorpio a more conventional approach. A bigger touchscreen infotainment system takes centre stage and the instrument cluster sports more conventional dials with a coloured central MID.

The outgoing Mahindra Scorpio appears to be quite simple on the inside. It does get a touchscreen infotainment system, but it's smaller and is less on features. The seats too are not as wide and it has a very upright seating position while armrests are attached to the seats both in the front and in the second-row.

The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be loaded to the brim with modern creature comforts.

The Mahindra XUV700 left us astonished with all the bells and whistles it has on offer, and the Mahindra Scorpio is expected to follow suit. It is likely to be loaded to the brim with modern age creature comforts and expect it to be laden with all latest features like wireless charging, a bigger touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone auto climate control, auto-dimming inner rear-view mirror, power-adjustable driver's seats, 360-degree camera view, a large panoramic sunroof and the Adrenox Connected car tech among others. Features like tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and door-ajar warning for each door will also be on offer. However, we are not sure if Mahindra is also considering ventilated seats for the new Scorpio as the flagship XUV700 doesn't get one. Moreover, we also don't know if Mahindra is considering offering the advance driver assist system (ADAS) on the new Scorpio.
