Mahindra Reveals Four Superhero-Based Thar NFTs
Having announced its first NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) just a few days back, Mahindra has revealed its first set of four. Based on the Mahindra Thar, the four superhero themed NFTs are currently under the hammer at an online auction taking place from today (March 29) till March 31. The four NFTs have been named Born of the Earth, Taking Flight, Standing Tall and Exploring the Impossible. The auction is currently underway on Mahindra Gallery – an online NFT marketplace developed in collaboration with Tech Mahindra – with all proceeds going towards the Project Nanhi Kali to support education of underprivileged girls.
The Born of the Earth NFT pictures the Thar in a rugged rocky and barren landscape. Mahindra says the NFT references the development of subsequent generations of the Thar which has evolved with time to become a “timeless icon” and a name “pronounced in the same breath with mythical superheroes who were born to explore the impossible.”
Taking Flight shows the Thar airborne between two cliffs with a Superman-like cape hanging off the back. The carmaker says that the image references to the Thar embracing newer technologies “the demands of a new generation searching for a sense of adventure.”
NFT no. 3 Standing Tall showcases the Thar – cape and all – standing atop what looks like a mountain peak after completing the climb – likely a reference to the Thar's go-anywhere abilities being able to take harsh terrains and come out the other side.
In Exploring the Impossible, the Thar is shown to be at the head of a river in the middle of nowhere. Mahindra says that the image references the call to go exploring to places “beyond your line of vision” and using roads not taken.
Speaking of the auction buyers will be required to register prior to the start of bidding with the winning bidder getting a window of 48 hours to make payment to claim the NFT through the Crypto Wallet created prior to bidding starting. Non payment will mean the NFT will be offered to the second highest bidder.
Additionally winning bidders will also be invited to the Mahindra Adventure Off-road Driver Training Academy in Igatpuri, Maharashtra or Mahindra's SUV Proving Ground in Chennai to enjoy some 4x4 motoring.
