Yamaha Motor India has finally taken the wraps of its mystery commuter motorcycle today and introduced the Saluto RX in the 110cc segment. The Japanese manufacturer was lacking in the mass market segment in terms of offerings and the Saluto RX is here to fill that void, while also improving the company's volumes. Here is everything you need to know about the newest motorcycle from Yamaha.

1. The Saluto RX 110 replaces the Crux and YBR motorcycles in Yamaha's commuter lineup in the country.

2. While the Saluto nameplate was first introduced on the 125cc commuter last year, the RX suffix is traced back to the iconic two-stroke motorcycle - the Yamaha RX100 - and makes a comeback on the new commuter.

3. Powering the Yamaha Saluto RX is a 110cc single-cylinder, four stroke, air-cooled engine tuned to produce 7.3bhp of power at 7000rpm and 8.3Nm of torque at 4500rpm. The engine comes paired to a 4-speed gearbox.

4. Yamaha claims that the Saluto RX is the lightest commuter motorcycle in its class with a kerb weight of just 98 kg, and is a good 22 kg lighter compared to Yamaha's older offerings in the segment.

5. The Saluto RX is BS-IV emission norms compliant and is equipped with Yamaha's Blue Core technology, all of which help in achieving a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 82 kmpl.

6. The chassis is all new on the Yamaha Saluto RX, whereas the styling comes from the Saluto 125, lending a premium appeal. It also gets a rather simple analog instrument console with all the basic information needed.

7. The commuter rides on alloy wheels that are wrapped in tube tyres, while suspension duties are performed by telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear.

8. Braking performance comes from 130mm drum brakes at the front and rear. Front disc brake is not on offer, even as an option.

9. The Yamaha Saluto RX is being offered in four colour options - Breezy Blue, Inspiring Red and Gleaming Black. You also get a segment first Matte Black paint scheme.

10. Yamaha's target audience for the new Saluto RX is the rural youth in India under the age group of 30 years.

11. Rivaling the Yamaha Saluto RX are a number of offerings including the TVS Victor, Honda Livo, Hero Passion Pro and the likes in the segment.

12. Yamaha expects the Saluto RX to contribute 7 per cent to the company's overall sales annually.

13. Sales for the Saluto RX will commence this May and Yamaha has a target to retail around 60,000 units within this year.
