Triumph Motorcycles will be launching the new Tiger Sport 660 sport touring motorcycle on March 29, 2022. The new Triumph Tiger Sport 660 will be the British bike maker's new entry-level model in the Tiger family, positioned below the Tiger Sport 850 in the company's line-up. The model is all set to compete against the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT in the segment. The Tiger Sport 660 shares its underpinnings with the entry-level roadster, the Trident 660, but features a different subframe, longer travel suspension, and a front fairing with a tall windscreen and upright riding position. Pre-bookings for the Tiger Sport 660 have already commenced at Triumph dealerships pan India.

The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 is more in line with the Tiger family in terms of design over the Trident. The model gets a larger 17-litre fuel tank, as well as a new instrument console, and different riding ergonomics. The bike comes with two riding modes - Road and Rain - along with switchable traction control, and dual-channel ABS. The seat height is at 835 mm, while the kerb weight is 206 kg. The Tiger Sport 660 also comes with a tall windscreen, a step-up saddle, integrated pannier mounts and an underbelly exhaust.

Power comes from the 660 cc, inline-three cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that's tuned for 80 bhp at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of peak torque at 6,250 rpm. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by Showa 41 mm USD forks with 150 mm travel, while the monoshock gets a remote preload adjuster. The Nissin brakes are shared with the Trident 660, with two-piston sliding calipers gripping 310 mm twin front discs, and a single-piston caliper gripping a single 255 mm disc on the rear wheel. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 is expected to arrive at a price of Rs. 8-9 lakh (ex-showroom), which will make it substantially more accessible than the Tiger 900 range, while keeping prices on par with the competition.
