Tata Motors has finally announced prices for the Tata Punch, and the range starts from Rs. 5.49 lakh for the base Pure manual trim. The range-topping Creative AMT trim is priced at Rs. 9.09 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). Do note, these prices are introductory and will be valid up till December 31, 2021. It's the most affordable SUV from the Indian carmaker, which sits below the Nexon subcompact SUV in the line-up. Here's a look at how aggressively is the micro SUV priced against the competition.

The newly launched Tata Punch is offered in four trims - Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. Prices for the Punch manual variants start at Rs. 5.49 lakh, and go up to Rs. 8.49 lakh. However, AMT variants are priced in between Rs. 6.99 lakh and Rs. 9.09 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The micro SUV draws its power from the company's tried and tested 1.2-litre Revotron petrol mill that makes 84 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the five-speed AMT unit is optional.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift is a petrol-only model

Offered in both manual and AMT versions, the Maruti Suzuki Swift comes in seven variants across four trims - LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI+. The manual variant gets a starting price of Rs 5.85 lakh and going up to Rs. 8.03 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, the AMT models are priced in between Rs. 7.14 lakh and Rs. 8.53 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Swift is a petrol-only model and gets a new-generation Dual Jet VVT unit making close to 89 bhp and 113 Nm of power figures. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox with an optional 5-speed AMT unit.

Prices for the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios begin at Rs. 5.28 lakh (ex-showroom)

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is also available in both manual and AMT versions. Prices for the Era manual variants start at Rs. 5.28 lakh and going up to Rs. 7.42 lakh for the top-end Asta variant (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, the AMT models are priced in the range of Rs. 6.67 lakh to Rs. 7.91 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car is offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, which includes a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol, a 1.0-litre GDi petrol, and a 1.2-litre U2 CRDi diesel.

The Mahindra KUV100 NXT is offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox only

Unlike other rivals, the Mahindra KUV100 comes with only manual transmission. Available in four variants, prices for the KUV100 NXT starts from Rs. 6.05 lakh, going up to Rs. 7.71 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is powered by a mFalcon G80 1.2-litre petrol engine tuned to make 82 bhp and 115 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.

The Maruti Suzuki Ignis is available in both manual and AMT avatars.

Lastly, the Maruti Suzuki Ignis is also offered with a choice of manual and AMT gearbox. It gets a 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine that develops 82 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. The mill comes paired to a five-speed manual transmission, while the AMT gearbox is optional. The car is priced in between Rs. 5.10 lakh and Rs. 7.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Prices for AMT models start from Rs. 6.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
