Highlights

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. has finally updated its Hayate. The new Hayate will be known as Hayate EP and will have new engine components like improved technology, a sleeker piston for improved performance, high-ignition spark plug, low friction cylinder & piston rings, improved combustion, high compression ratio, reduced friction and reduced weight. All these things work together to provide improved acceleration and better fuel efficiency.

The overall seat length has been increased to provide better comfort, and the wheelbase has been increased to provide extra control. This is then complimented by the new frame resulting in increased comfort and stability. Some of the other convenient features include a maintenance-free battery, tubeless tyres and a five-step adjustable monoshock at the rear.

The Suzuki Hayate EP will have a 110cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine delivering 8.78bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 9.3Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. This will then be translated to usable power via a four-speed gearbox. The Hayate EP will have two telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It will also have 17" tubeless tyres and drum brakes on both the ends.

Commenting on the updated motorcycle, Mr. Masayoshi Ito, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), said, "The all new Suzuki Hayate EP appeals to every modern Indian rider. Our engineers and designers have worked very hard to give the Hayate EP superior fuel efficiency without compromising on pick-up. Added to that, the unmatched riding comfort of the Hayate EP makes it an ideal ride for daily commuters. We are confident that the new Hayate EP will be very well received in the market."

The all-new Suzuki Hayate EP will be available in three colour options - Metallic Oort Grey, Pearl Mira Red and Glass Sparkle Black. The bike will go on sale and will be available in the Indian market before the current financial year - FY 16 - ends.
