Highlights

Mahindra and Mahindra have been associated with the whole concept of electric mobility from day one and the e2O and the company's association with the Formula E Championship only adds to that commitment. Mahindra plans to take it a step ahead as Pawan Goenka announced that the company has plans to introduce a four-door version of the e2O soon.

He said that the four-door variant of the e2O would be exported to Europe and the new model is expected to be rolled out there by June-July 2016. The company would set up a distribution centre in the United Kingdom in this regard.

Currently, Mahindra exports the e2O to Nepal and the four door version would be an addition to its portfolio. Thanks to the governments Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (FAME) initiative, the sales of electric cars have doubled and Mahindra plans to take advantage of it to boost their sales.

Mahindra has signed a deal with Lithium, a Bengaluru-based start-up that rents out electric cars, to provide cars for its fleet. Goenka revealed that Lithium has already purchased 50 units of Mahindra e2o and has booked 50 more.
