Mercedes S-Class' Cheaper Variant S 350 Launching on June 5

    Mercedes-Benz India that launched the 2014 S-Class earlier this year in a single S 500 variant (Petrol), is now all set to launch a more affordable S 350 variant with a diesel engine of the car. To be launched on June 5th, the bookings for the car have already begun.

    As mentioned above, the S 500 variant is a petrol variant, while the S 350 is a diesel variant powered by a 3.0-litre V6 engine, capable of churning out 255bhp and 620Nm. Transmitting power to the rear wheels of the car is a 7G-Tronic Plus automatic gearbox. This engine helps the S 350 sprint to 100kmph from standstill in mere 6.8 seconds, with a top speed of 248kmph.

    Since the S 350 will be a more affordable variant, this will miss out some features. The S 350 will be brought through CKD (Completely knocked down) route and assembled at the company's facility in Chakan, Pune.

    The S350 CDI is likely to be priced around Rs 1.25-1.30 crore.
