What's New?

The 402S is a city cruiser in Benelli's 400cc segment of sporty cruisers for city and highway commutes. Inspired by the Ducati Diavel, the 402S has a large fuel tank with smooth body lines with a naked look of the engine and classic vertical headlights similar to the ones on the Ducati cruiser.

Powered by a 399.3 cc, twin-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine, it produces a good 39.9 bhp at 9000 rpm and 35 Nm of torque at 7000 rpm. The power output is only slightly higher than the 300cc mill produced by the company. However, the torque output is noticeably greater. The motorcycle's braking system is similar to that of the 302S, featuring twin 260mm discs in the front and a 240mm disc in the rear and dual-channel ABS. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and wet multi-plate clutch.

The 402S will come with a large 16-litre fuel tank while its kerb weight stands at 160 kg and has a saddle height of 740mm. The motorcycle is equipped with a 41 mm USD fork and a monoshock at the rear. The rear shock is supported by a swing arm made of steel pipes, increasing the overall stiffness of the motorcycle's frame. Both headlights and tail lights are LED and the bike is expected to have a fully-digital instrument console.

The Benelli 402S is set to enter the market and go head-to-head against several other popular motorcycle models, including the Bajaj Dominar 400, Royal Enfield Himalayan 411, KTM Duke 390, and Husqvarna Svartpilen 401.

While the launch date of the motorcycle is not yet confirmed, we expect it to be launched in India by August 2023, priced at Rs 2.5 lakh to 3 lakh (ex-showroom).

Other Upcoming Benelli Models are the Leoncino 800, 752S and Benelli 302S
